🦗 Deep in Għadira’s sand dunes, we’re studying one of Malta’s rarest insects — the Giant Sand Cricket. It hides by day, but at night the male digs burrows and calls for a mate by vibrating its wings, using the sand as a speaker. This habitat is incredibly rare in Malta — found only in a handful of places. If we lose it, we risk losing the Giant Sand Cricket forever.
